About Me

I have been blogging off and on in various places for over ten years now, starting with a very busy LiveJournal account that I loved and still miss. I love talking about books, movies, politics, pop culture, and the law. Sometimes, I get twirly about makeup or skincare, but time will tell if I ever decide to blog about either of those. I recently started attending yoga classes, and I have an enthusiasm for it that might bubble up here from time to time. I'm a lawyer seeking employment as well as a voracious reader, and I'm likely to return to those topics frequently. I am also trying to return to the habit of daily fiction writing in the hopes of improving my skills in that area.

I named this blog "The Brouhaha Brief" because my last name--Brouhard--has meant that whenever I see "brouhaha" written anywhere, for a brief moment my brain always thinks the word is my last name. I suppose if I ever live the dream and play a roller derby match, I'll have to use Brouhaha in my nom de guerre. For now, though, it sums up this blog perfectly. Entries may be short, but I won't shy away from the topics that I feel strongly about, even when they stir the pot. I seek civility, even if there is disagreement.

You can find me all over the web at various sites, and one of these days, I'll make an exhaustive list. For now, here's a couple:

Twitter. --I'd love to talk to you all there.
Goodreads. --Ditto! I'll be linking reviews about books both at the blog and at the site, but I'll endeavor that content at the blog will have things besides just book reviews.
Facebook--More a personal venue than a public one, but I'm not shy about new friends.
